De versterker bestaat uit een buitendraad en een binnendraad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In dit geval komt de buitendraad overeen met een draadmaat die kleiner is dan die vereist voor aansluiting op de installatie van de apparatuur. De versterker heeft een grotere binnendraad aan het andere uiteinde, waardoor de eerdere mismatch in de draad wordt opgelost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De versterkers werken met zowel binnen- als buitenschroefdraad van hetzelfde type, zoals PG-aansluitschroefdraad of metrische schroefdraad. Dit onderscheidt ze van adapters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De versterkers zijn gemaakt van metaal, met name vernikkeld messing.
