De RoHS-voorschriften<\/a> is de reeks regelgeving van de Europese Unie die het gebruik van gevaarlijke stoffen in elektrische en elektronische apparatuur beperkt om het milieu en de volksgezondheid te beschermen. De afkorting komt van de Engelse Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment.<\/p>\n

De RoHS-voorschriften<\/strong> streeft ernaar de risico's te voorkomen die het beheer van elektrisch en elektronisch afval met zich mee kan brengen voor de menselijke gezondheid en het milieu, en beperkt daarom het gebruik van bepaalde gevaarlijke stoffen die kunnen worden vervangen door veiligere alternatieven. Deze beperkte stoffen omvatten zware metalen, vlamvertragers of weekmakers.<\/p>\n

Alle producten op de markt van de Europese Unie moeten voldoen aan de RoHS-voorschriften<\/strong> na de inwerkingtreding ervan op 1 juli 2006. Elk bedrijf dat rechtstreeks toepasbare elektronische producten, subassemblages of componenten verkoopt aan Europese landen, of dat verkoopt aan wederverkopers, distributeurs of integrators die op hun beurt producten verkopen aan landen van de Europese Unie, moet dan voldoen aan de RoHS-voorschriften.<\/strong><\/p>\n

De stoffen die gereguleerd worden door RoHS-voorschriften<\/strong> Het zijn lood, kwik, cadmium, zeswaardig chroom, polybroombifenylen, polybroomdifenylethers en vier verschillende ftalaten. De reden voor dit verbod is dat deze materialen zeer gevaarlijk zijn voor het milieu, stortplaatsen vervuilen en een risico vormen in termen van beroepsmatige blootstelling tijdens productie en recycling.<\/p>\n

Elk bedrijf dat toepasselijke elektrische of elektronische producten, apparatuur, subassemblages, kabels, componenten of reserveonderdelen rechtstreeks verkoopt aan RoHS-gerichte landen, of dat verkoopt aan wederverkopers, distributeurs of integrators die op hun beurt producten aan deze landen verkopen, zal op de lijst worden vermeld. te voldoen aan de RoHS-voorschriften<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bepaalde producten en toepassingen zijn momenteel vrijgesteld van naleving van de RoHS-voorschriften.<\/strong> Deze vrijstellingen hebben over het algemeen betrekking op verschillende soorten militaire, industri\u00eble, wetenschappelijke, hernieuwbare energie en medische apparatuur.
