Junction or terminal boxes may be water - and dust-tight, but they do not protect against condensation caused by temperature changes and pressure, reaching even up to 1000 mbar of pressure.
During the working process, the temperature and pressure increases inside the box. When it cools, the pressure decreases and the air is expelled outwards. When the temperature change is very abrupt, the condensation point is reached, producing oxidation and microbreaking of the equipment.
The reaction of condensation with the interior occurs both in contact with the cables or the printed circuit board. That’s when the equipment suffers and rusts. All this affects the reliability and service life of the product, putting at risk all equipment, for example, a luminaire.
To think that making a hole in the product solves the problem is understandable, but incorrect. If we made a simple hole in the junction box, we would lose tightness and protection against water and dust, causing worse damage.
This is why our pressure equalization elements (or cable glands and ventilation plugs) are the best protection against condensation.
All these products are certified by the following quality standards: UL (Undrewriters Laboratories), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), CE (European Conformity), GOST-R (Certification according to Russian standards), Rohs (Restriction of Hazardous Substances).
Our products are available in Polyamide 6, Nickel Plated Brass or Stainless Steel. All can be used both indoors and outdoors. These products are essential in locations with adverse weather conditions.
